Clinical practice guidelines

Clinical practice guidelines are recommendations for clinicians about how to diagnose, treat, or perform surveillance of patients with specific conditions. These guidelines are based on the best available research evidence and/or expert opinion.

Care pathways

Care pathways are guides for healthcare professionals that describe the various tasks involved in the care for patients with a specific condition using evidence-based practice.

Patient journeys

Patient journeys give an overview of a patient's experience during a specific treatment.

 

Dissemination of clinical tools

A clinical tool is a resource that helps healthcare professional diagnose, treat, and monitor patients.
The following tools have fulfilled the mandatory requirements:

  • CanRisk (https://canrisk.org)
    To calculate breast and ovarian cancer risks based on information entered for the individual, which can include personal risk factors, cancer family history, genetic testing for high- and moderate-risk genes, polygenic scores and mammographic density. It presents the cancer risks in textual and graphical formats to assist the communication of the tools.
