Giovanni Tallini is a pathologist at the University of Bologna Medical Center (IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria di Bologna Policlinico di Sant'Orsola) in Bologna, Italy, where he directs the Endocrine Pathology program and the Solid Tumor Molecular Pathology Laboratory. Over the years he has developed a strong interest in the pathology and pathobiology of the thyroid gland which has become a focus for his clinical research.
This webinar will cover our current understanding of the cytopathology and histopathology of thyroid tumors carrying DICER1 mutations, with an emphasis on their distinctive features, their prevalence in the diagnostic practice, and the clues that pathologists can use to recommend molecular typing of somatic lesional tissue.
